Matt Murphy
CEO/CSO
Matt Murphy is an inspirational and succeeding business leader who founded V.I. Experts, Inc. in January of 2009. Matt brings over 30 years of leadership and technical experience to the V.I. Experts team. V.I. Experts’ core purpose, “To consistently better the lives of our customers, employees, families and communities we serve through enduring leadership and organizational systems,” was shaped through Matt’s early work experience at Nordstrom. At Nordstrom, Matt began to build the foundation of his ideals and vision to create an enduring organization based on sound business principles and purpose. As a leader and manager, Matt served as the right hand man to several entrepreneurs and assisted in the growth of their respective organizations. During his tenure at Tech USA, a DSL consulting company, Matt developed technical training programs, organizational processes, and helped build the organization from 15 employees to over 300 employees across 6 different states. He also played an instrumental role in growing the service revenue to over 20 million dollars per year. To compliment his experience in the networking industry, Matt also holds several certifications from Microsoft in addition to a Bachelors degree in Information Technology. He has been certified as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) since 1999. Wisdom and growth is the cornerstone of Matt Murphy’s personal philosophy and as such, Matt has always kept his hands in technology and continues to master his skills as a Senior Systems Engineer. Matt places a strong emphasis on leadership and continually strives to improve his leadership skills through experience, professional training, and educational seminars.
Nicole Murphy
Chief Operating Officer
Nicole Murphy, the co-owner of V.I. Experts, has her Bachelors and Masters of Science from UC Davis in Civil Engineering. During her tenure as a Civil Engineer, Nicole has worked with three prominent Engineering firms focused on consultation and implementation of major multi-million dollar projects. Nicole has held the lead role of Project Manager for several million dollar projects in which she has led the design, implementation, and successful execution of these projects. In July of 2012, Nicole joined the V.I. Experts team to bring her vast project management and operations experience, along with her structured management style. As the Chief Operating Officer of V.I. Experts, Nicole has successfully applied her experience and style to the operations of the organization. She has already had an immediate impact on improving efficiencies for the day to day operations while planning out the strategic operations for future growth. Nicole has quickly proven she is a valuable member of the team and has begun building a solid foundation for the future of V.I. Experts.
Kathy Murphy
Director of Finance
Kathy Murphy joined V.I. Experts as the Director of Finance in December 2009. Ms. Murphy has a vast amount of corporate, business experience and wisdom after spending the past 14 years at LEGOLAND and the prior 11 years with the Nordstrom stores in San Diego and Orange County.
Ms. Murphy joined LEGOLAND at the inception of the Carlsbad, CA location as the Safety/Risk/Claims Manager. She has been directly responsible for building her department and processes from the ground up; including a “Best Practices” Safety and Risk Program touted by their Insurance Agencies. Ms. Murphy has a keen financial eye, has saved LEGOLAND millions of dollars by managing the financial aspects of Safety and Risk systems in addition to negotiation of financial claims.
Her attention to detail and business processes has been instrumental to running a highly effective and efficient department. Additionally, her natural leadership skills were the key to developing excellent relationships with the employees and guests she served.
At Nordstrom, Ms. Murphy had several titles throughout her tenure, but she was always known as the “go to” person for improving efficiencies in faltering departments. The Nordstrom Management team entrusted Ms. Murphy to implement improved procedures for the regional managers, the Loss Prevention departments, clothing departments, and the alteration departments.
